A motorcycle driver was pronounced dead Sunday evening after running off an embankment on 226A, officials said Monday morning.
At 7:01 p.m. on Easter Sunday, McDowell County EMS, Woodlawn Fire Department and McDowell Rescue responded to NC 226A near Waites Hollifield Road for a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcyclist. Reports said the driver was ejected over the embankment and pronounced dead upon arrive of EMS paramedics.
No other vehicles or subjects were involved, according to reports.
N.C. Highway Patrol said the identity of the driver is not being released at this time.
