Nebo man faces drug charges after deputies respond to report of an assault

A Nebo man was arrested and charged after deputies responding to an assault located meth and paraphernalia on the scene, authorities said Thursday.

Deputy Jordon Frisbee of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Michael Scott Baker, 36, address listed as Earl Lee Road in Nebo, with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 11:11 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, Frisbee was called to McKinney Road in Marion in reference to a possible assault. He arrived to find two people, one of them being Baker, sitting in a truck in the driveway.

A subsequent search of the suspects and vehicle turned up 1 gram of methamphetamine and items of drug paraphernalia belonging to Baker.

Baker’s bond was set at $1,000.
