Asheville Hematology & Oncology announced that Dr. Louay Hanna, a board-certified oncologist, is joining the practice’s Asheville and Marion cancer treatment teams.
Hanna earned his medical degree from the University of Damascus in Syria, followed by a residency in internal medicine at NYU Winthrop University in Mineola, New York where he was named “Outstanding Third Year Resident.” He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Physicians, according to a news release.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Hanna to our Asheville and Marion cancer treatment facilities,” said Dr. Raymond Thertulien, hematologist/medical oncologist with Asheville Hematology & Oncology. “His expertise in medical oncology and hematology, as well as his dedication to patient care, makes him an invaluable addition to our team.”
Hanna is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. His clinical expertise is in medical oncology, internal medicine and hematology. Hanna is specifically interested in immuno-oncology to treat various forms of cancer using the body’s own immune system, according to the news release.
Asheville Hematology & Oncology’s Asheville location is at 20 Medical Park Drive while the Marion location is at 63 South Medical Court.
