Overline: Pets of the Week

The McDowell County Animal Shelter has a plethora of puppies up for adoption. Some are 6-week-old lab/terrier mix males and females. Adoption fees are $65 and come with a voucher to get spayed/neutered and rabies vaccine when age appropriate. The McDowell County Animal Shelter accepts stray animals and serves as an adoption center for those that are adoptable. Constantly the shelter is near or at capacity. Adoption rates are $65 for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens and include a mandatory spaying or neutering, rabies vaccination and medical examination by one of the county’s participating veterinarians. The hours for the shelter are Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. They are located at 3751 N.C. 226 in Marion. For more information, call 652-6643.
