A Marion man was arrested and charged after deputies responded to a dispute where he allegedly struck and choked a female acquaintance, authorities said Friday.
Lt. Burlin Ballew of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jacob Ballard Hensley, 26, address listed as Valley Street in Marion, with assault by strangulation and assault on a female.
At 11:46 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, Ballew and other deputies responded to Valley Street to a domestic dispute between Hensley and a 27-year-old female acquaintance.
Deputies arrived on the scene to find the victim with facial injuries that Hensley had caused when he hit and choked her.
Hensley’s bond was set at $40,000.
