A Marion man faces drug charges after a traffic stop uncovered meth and paraphernalia during a search, authorities said Tuesday.

Deputy Steven McPeters of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jeffery Michael Brown, 35, address listed as Baldwin Avenue in Marion, with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 10:11 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, McPeters assisted Deputy Aaron Vallini with a traffic stop on the U.S. 221 bypass at the High School bridge. Brown was driving the truck.

A subsequent search of his person and the automobile turned up .75 gram of methamphetamine and items of drug paraphernalia.

Marion police officers also issued Brown citations for traffic violations.

Brown’s bond was set at $10,500.
