Work is underway to build the Shoe Sensation next to Harbor Freight Tools in McDowell Square Shopping Center. This is the last remaining section of the former Walmart building located at 364 U.S. 70 West.
Shoe Sensation offers many of the top brands of footwear but also strives to be a good neighbor in its community by hosting local philanthropic events, according to the company’s Web site.
“In addition to our sensational product offering, we strive to be good stewards in our communities and to help out whenever possible,” reads the Web site. “It means a great deal to us to make a difference in the towns where we live. We hire our management straight from the local community purposefully to embed our stores in local events and to become part of your community. At Shoe Sensation, Inc. our emphasis is on connecting with our hometowns, and we are always looking for new talent to add to our team.”
Cotton said the Shoe Sensation for Marion plans to be open by August, just in time for students going back to school.
