A new place on East Henderson Street in Marion is where you can find all kinds of goodies for body care as well as some delicious sweet treats.
Located at 28 E. Henderson, Simply Sweet & Happy is owned and operated by Allie Webb and Brittany Martin. Together, they transformed the former location of the Recycler’s Den into a warm and inviting place where folks can relax and enjoy their products. Their shop opened for business on Saturday, May 11.
“We both know we didn’t want to work from home and we wanted to have a storefront,” said Webb. “We didn’t want to take the risk of time and money by doing it on our own. We wanted to have a place for local goods.”
So the two women combined their talents into one place called Simply Sweet & Happy. Webb is the owner of Happy Body Care and it is her line of chemical-free, toxic-free body care and cleaning products. Together, Webb and Martin make these lotions, body butters, essential oils, detergents, cleaners and many other items all from natural ingredients.
“It just gives people an affordable, chemical-free, toxic-free option,” said Webb.
She has a product that helps with body aches and a coffee-infused beard balm.
Meanwhile, Martin focuses on cooking up all of kinds of delicious cookies, brownies, scones and macaroons. Her cookies especially look as good as they taste.
Most of all, Simply Sweet & Happy is a welcoming place where folks can browse among their products and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea for only $1.
Webb and Martin said they plan to hold classes on cookie decorating similar to what is offered at The Makery. There will be classes on essential oils and a “beekeeping for dummies” class.
Already, their products and their new shop have garnered rave reviews on Facebook in just a short time.
“Southern hospitality, plus delicious cookies and wonderful natural products,” wrote Jessy Morris. “These ladies offer the best products at reasonable prices. I recommend everyone try the chocolate chip cookies and the whipped body butter.”
“Stopped in and got some chocolate chip cookies,” wrote Jason Cocklin. “Absolutely phenomenal flavor, just enough crunch on the outside with that perfect chewy inside. Also picked up some stuff for the wife, double brownie points! This is the place to go for your cookie cravings.”
