On Saturday, April 27, McDowell County families were able to receive free diapers and other supplies thanks to a donation drive with Aeroflow Healthcare and Diaper Bank of North Carolina. Supplies were collected to serve 600 families in McDowell County, and were distributed at the Corpening YMCA. According to the Diaper Bank of North Carolina, one in three American families struggle to afford enough diapers, and government assistance programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Women, Infants, Children (WIC) do not cover their purchase, creating further hardships for many families. Aeroflow’s partnership with Diaper Bank of NC supports the organization’s mission of promoting and protecting the dignity of North Carolina residents by improving access to basic personal hygiene products. Partnership for Children of the Foothills, serving McDowell, Rutherford and Polk counties, also partnered with Diaper Bank of NC.
