Victims in separate theft cases are offering rewards for the return of their stolen property.

James Evans, of Old Fort, is offering $1,000 for information concerning the whereabouts of guns and coins taken from his Paradise Lane residence on Friday, May 10. Between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., someone broke into Evans’s house and removed a black Smith & Wesson AR-15, a brown wooden-lever action Winchester 30-30 with a black scope and a black strap, a purple and black Taurus 9mm and 10 Morgan silver dollars dating back to the pre-1900s.

In another case, Blair Ashcraft, of Charlotte, has increased his reward to $1,500 for the theft of a porch swing from a residence on Old Wildlife Club Drive in Marion in July 2016.

The handmade swing is solid oak with custom cushions and heavy suspension chains.

Anyone with information concerning these thefts, suspects or whereabouts of the property is asked to call Detective Billie Brown at the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office at 652-2237 or text your tip to TIP MCDOWELLSO and your information to 888777.
