Begonias, peppers, tomatoes, snapdragons, squash and marigolds are just a few of the many plants for sell at the Titan Greenhouse this week only.
Each year, students in the Occupational Course of Study plant different varieties of flowers and vegetables on campus in hopes to spread a little spring color to the community while raising money for the program. Proceeds from the student-led and student-run initiative support whatever needs may arise.
“The money goes 100 percent back to the students,” said OCS teacher Thomas Young, who has spearheaded the program for several years. “We get a lot of community support. We are starting to have repeat and loyal customers.”
The sale starts Monday and will continue through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students will be on hand to guide drivers to the greenhouse.
Banner Greenhouse supplies the Titan Greenhouse each year with their harvest. Available plants include begonias, peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, snap dragons, potato plants, angelonias, lantana cakes, squash, marigolds, sunflowers and petunias.
Prices for baskets and flats range from $2 to $15.
