Cadet Katlyn Davis received a one-year scholarship to the College of the Holy Cross and a four-year scholarship to the University of Notre Dame; and Cadet Nicolas Wendling received a three-year AROTC scholarship to Appalachian State University.

McDowell High School NJROTC announced this week two cadets were awarded with prestigious scholarships.

Cadet Nicolas Wendling has received a three-year AROTC scholarship to Appalachian State University. Cadet Katlyn Davis has been awarded a one-year scholarship to College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts followed by a four-year NROTC scholarship to the University of Notre Dame.

“Davis’ scholarship is particularly significant,” said McDowell NJROTC senior naval sciences instructor Steve Ross said. “The year at Holy Cross will get her ready for one of the top universities in the United States – with the total package being worth more than $250,000. The Unit is very proud what these two cadets have accomplished – they will be role models for years to come.”

Davis plans to study biology, and Wendling will study German and French.
