U.S. Marshals searching for NC man wanted on multiple felonies

A North Carolina man, wanted by U.S. Marshals for multiple felonies, is thought to be in the Buncombe County area.
Officials are searching for Anthony Orlando Bowers, 25, with outstanding charges for assault on a law enforcement officer inflicting serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, felony hit and run causing serious injury or death, possession with intent to sell/distribute cocaine, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, resisting a public officer and flee to elude arrest with motor vehicle.
According to the Asheville Citizen Times, Asheville officers said Tuesday they were in the area of South French Broad Avenue attempting to locate a suspect from a traffic stop when Bowers collided with a department vehicle. The officer was transported to Mission Hospital with serious injuries, according to the newspaper.
Bowers is described as a black male, around 5 feet 4 inches and 144 pounds.
