A wanted Marion man was arrested and charged after deputies responding to a domestic dispute found the suspect following a chase in the woods, authorities said Wednesday.
Deputy David Jones of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jimmy Eugene Walker Jr., 55, address listed as Sugar Hill Road in Marion, with resisting a public officer. Walker was also served with an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.
On the evening of Tuesday, May 4, deputies were called to Walker’s residence in reference to a domestic dispute. When they arrived, Walker fled into the woods.
A couple of hours later, they were called back to the scene, where Walker again ran into the woods. Deputies, along with K-9 Loki, tracked the suspect and apprehended him a short time later.
Walker’s bond was set at $7,500.
