Marshall Kenneth Edwards, 58, of Nebo, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at his home.
Marshall was born in McDowell County Aug. 3, 1960, to the late Marshall Edwards and Mildred Edwards Sumline of Nebo. Marshall was a loving son and brother, an humble man who was always willing to help others in need. He was a member of Victory Chapel Baptist Church in Morganton. He enjoyed collecting comic books, coins and baseball cards. Marshall was a hard worker at Auria in Old Fort where he was a forklift operator.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and her husband, Joseph Sumline, are two brothers, Tim and James Edwards, both of Nebo; a stepbrother, Richard Sumline and a stepsister, Tina Sumline, both of Dysartsville; two nephews, Justin Edwards and Ezekiel Edwards and his wife, Makayla; two nieces, Amanda and Emily Edwards; a stepniece, Bella Sumline; one great-niece, Brooklynn Sanders; and one great-nephew, Lincoln Edwards.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 6, at 12 p.m., in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion, with the Revs. Johnny McCarty and John Cope officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., prior to the service.
Entombment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
