PLEASANT GARDENS Robert "Bob" Fletcher, 89, of the Pleasant Gardens community, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at Autumn Care of Marion. A native of Greene County, Tenn., Bob was born Feb. 21, 1929, to the late Abner and Evelyn Fletcher. Bob was the co-owner of Fletcher's Greenhouse in Pleasant Gardens with his wife of 63 years, Virgie Miller Fletcher, who preceded him in death Jan. 30, 2018. He served during the Korean War in the United States Army. Bob was a member of Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church. Bob leaves behind three children, Keith Fletcher and wife, Darlene, of Marion, Nita Fletcher of Marion, and Ray Fletcher and wife, Sonja, of Las Vegas, Nev.; two granddaughters, Melanie Ellis and husband, Scott, and Mandy Cable and husband, Jason; and two great-grandchildren, Kaley Ellis and Landyn Cable. The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 21, from 2 to 3 p.m., in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church Cemetery, where Bob will be laid to rest beside his wife, Virgie. Military honors will be rendered by United States Army. Westmoreland Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
