Mrs. Margaret Reel Hall, 80, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at the Hospice House facility of Hospice in Rutherford County.
Margaret was a native of McDowell County, born March 31, 1937, to the late Jonas Asbery Reel and Rosa Ward Reel. She was retired from the Dietary Department of Rose Hill Retirement Center. Margaret was a gifted homemaker, her expertise at canning and cooking (especially her hot apple pies) was legendary. She was also a talented seamstress. A member of Sugar Hill Baptist Church, she was a faithful Christian who loved her Lord.
Her husband, Ralph Junior Hall, preceded her in death.
Margaret leaves behind her husband, Larry Bennett of the home; five children, Glenn Barrier of the home, Randy Barrier and wife, Dana of Glenwood, Teresa Letterman and husband, John of Glenwood, Lesia Fender and husband, Ray of Morganton and Wayne Barrier of Nebo; one brother, Harlan "Buck" Reel of Marion; three sisters, Marie Bradley of Georgia, Laura Bradley of Marion and Anne Compton of Marion; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Max and Laura Duncan.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Michael Robinson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cross Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest.
