Richard Lee Jensen, 90, of Old Fort, went to be with the Lord Friday, June 21, 2019, at his home, with his loving wife at his side.
Mr. Jensen was born July 14, 1928, in Los Angeles, Calif., to the late Ernest Clair Jensen and Pauline L. Hall Jensen. He proudly served his country and retired from the U.S. Air Force as chief master sergeant. After his time in the military, he worked for United Airlines until his retirement.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jensen was also preceded in death by his first wife, Joan M. Peterson Jensen; his son, James "Jimmy" Jensen; and an infant son, Richard Jensen. Left behind to cherish Mr. Jensen's memory are his beloved wife of 43 years, Jean Lavender Jensen; two children, Danny Jensen and wife, Laura, and Sallie Jensen; two stepchildren, Shawn Hall and Sharon Hall Adams; two brothers, Robert Jensen and wife, Pat, and Darrell Jensen and wife, Cathy; three grandsons; one stepgrandson; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, at Kirksey Funeral Chapel in Old Fort. A funeral service to celebrate Mr. Jensen's life will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Lavender and the Rev. Gary Lavender II officiating. Burial will follow the service at Moffitt Hill Cemetery with military honors.
