FARMVILLE, Va.

Elizabeth "Lib" Spann Lackey of Farmville, Va., slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Wednesday, June 12, 2019.

She was born Jan. 25, 1924, to the late John J. and Marjo Justice Spann in Western North Carolina. Lib is survived by her children, Robert Lackey (Betsy) of Deltaville, Va., Marjo Mullins (Noah) of Farmville, Va., Louisa Lackey of Rice, Va., and Frank Lackey of Marion. She has seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is survived by one sister, Mary Spann Beck of Hendersonville, and one brother-in-law, Zebulon (Buck) Lackey (Margaret) of Asheville.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul W. Lackey; her parents; her sister, Jane; her brother, John; and other family members and countless friends.

A celebration of Lib's life was held in Farmville, Va., Saturday June 22. A graveside memorial will be at the Bethlehem Community Cemetery in Old Fort, Saturday, July 6, at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Soup Kitchen at Clinchfield UMC 151 Ridge Rd., Marion, NC 28752, or to a charity or church of your choice.
