Mr. Frank McKinney, 82, of Swannanoa, formerly of Marion, passed away at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, after a period of declining health.

Frank was a native of Marion, born June 26, 1935, to the late Tressie McKinney. He was retired from Gerber Products Company in Asheville where he worked in the Maintenance Department. Frank enjoyed working and was a jack of all trades who worked hard and provided well for his family. A loving and caring man, he loved nothing better than to be around his family and friends and make folks smile and laugh. He was a definitely a Dale Earnhardt fan!

Surviving are three children, Angie Martin of Asheville, Debra Fore of Marion, and Dustin McKinney of the home; three grandchildren including his beloved grandson, Braxton McKinney; and five great-grandchildren.

A service of remembrance and celebration of his life will be held Friday, March 2, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Westmoreland Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
