SHREVEPORT, LA.

Graveside services for Dolores Porter, 78, will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, at Ebenezer -Siloam Cemetery in Old Fort.

Mrs. Porter was born Nov. 14, 1940, in Shreveport, La., to her parents, Kenneth LeRoy Brown and MurLee Thomas Brown and passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, in Shreveport, La. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Shreveport where she was a member of the Yes Lord Sunday School Class and a longtime member of Highland Baptist Church where she grew up. Mrs. Porter was a teacher, musician, artisan and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. A devout Christian who lived what she believed, she influenced and shaped the lives of her students, friends and family immeasurably. She will be missed.

Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Lloyd Porter of Shreveport, La.; sons, Patrick Porter and son-in-law, Michael Zegarski, of New York City and William "Kip" Porter of Shreveport, La.; two grandchildren, Owen Riley Porter and Stella Codell Porter both of Shreveport, La.

The family suggests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 543 Ockley St., Shreveport, LA 71106.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staffs of Christus Highland, ICU Stepdown and Grace Home for their excellent care and compassion.
