Roy D. Revis, 64, of Marion, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte.

A native of Chester, S.C., he was born Dec. 31, 1954, to the late Ralph Revis and Doris Carver Revis. Roy retired as a Paramedic and Staff Captain with the McDowell County EMS following more than 20 years of service. He enjoyed spending time outside fishing and camping. Roy was a poet and had written poetry that was published and won awards. He was a true Tar Heel fan.

Roy was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Revis. He leaves behind a son, who will remember Roy as a loving and caring dad, Michael Revis of Charlotte; sister, Debbie Randolph and husband, David, of Glenwood; and brother, Richard Revis and wife, Janette, of Marion.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 12, from 10 to 11 a.m., in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation with the Rev. Jimmy Upton officiating. Roy will be laid to rest in McDowell Memorial Park.
