Jewell Williams Robinson, 96, of Hickory, went to her Heavenly Home Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Robinson was born June 21, 1922, in Chattanooga, Tenn., to the late Flora Stepp Williams and Pinkney C. Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the two loves of her life, James A. Gragg and I.L. Robinson; her sister, Hazel W. Hemphill; and son, Donald K. Robinson.

Surviving are her two sons, Charles S. Robinson and wife, Trudy, and Larry E. Robinson; one daughter, Janice R. Jeffreys and husband, Jeff; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Jewell loved her God, her family, and her friends, of which she had many.

In her early years, she worked at James Hosiery Mill in Marion. She spent her life caring for people. She loved gardening, especially her beautiful flowers.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 17, at Bass-Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Marion.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 12:30 p.m., prior to the service. Memorials may be sent in her honor to Conley Memorial Presbyterian Church, 500 Old Linville Rd., Marion, NC 28752; or to Carolina Caring, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658.
