Mr. Grayson "Ryan" Saine, 45, of Morganton, was received into his Heavenly home Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018.

Ryan was born Oct. 13, 1973, in Wake County, to Mr. Grayson Lee Saine and the late Mrs. Glenda Gail Brooks Baker. He dedicated a large part of his life to helping those in need by working as a manager at The Meeting Place Mission and volunteering with programs such as Burke Recovery. Ryan received his Associate Degree in Human Services with a concentration in Substance Abuse Counseling from Western Piedmont Community College. Ryan had a strong faith in God and credits Him with not only helping with his recovery, but giving him the ability to help others with their journey to recovery. He attended Zion Road Baptist Church. He also enjoyed playing guitar and fishing.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jack Brooks; and paternal grandparents, Ransom and Olena Saine.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Danette Powell Saine of the home; stepchildren, Ciara Deal of Morganton and Collin Deal of the home; father, Grayson Lee Saine and wife, Wanda, of Shelby; maternal grandmother, Ida Aldridge Brooks; stepfather, Larry G. Baker; stepsiblings, Lori Cuthbertson, Chris Baker and wife, Angie, and Susan Campbell and husband, Randy; mother and father-in-law, Earl and Evelyn Russell; nieces, Katelyn Baker, Hannah Baker, and Sierra Campbell; and numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, at Zion Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Micah Piercy and the Rev. Rocky Branch officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park in Morganton.

The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
