Esther Macie Roberts Tepper, 66, of Marion, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville, surrounded by her loving family.
Macie was born Oct. 13, 1952, in Nassau, Bahamas, to the late Thomas and Vergie Malone Roberts. She was a faithful member of Greenlee Baptist Church where she was active in the Ladies Visitation Program, WMU and the Senior Adult Group. Macie loved her family and spent most of her life as a homemaker. She especially loved being "Grandma" to her six beloved grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Sgt. Conrad Tepper.
Left behind to cherish Macie's memory are one son, Brian Tepper (Blanca); three daughters, Tammy Weber (Keith), Karrie Tepper, Amanda Buthmann (Erich); six grandchildren, Sage, Sydney, Haley, J.J., Brielle, Emily; three brothers, Thomas Malone (Nancy), William Roberts (Stephanie), George Roberts; three sisters, Marva Salvato (Ken), Marina Roberts-Powell, Marguerite Cisson; and one sister-in-law, Theresa Roberts.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, May 25, at Greenlee Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m., with the Revs. Jonathan Tipper and Ned Webb officiating.
A graveside service will be held at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain at a later date.
