Fans of baseball and live music will have the chance to enjoy a little of both this weekend at Big League Camp on Lake James.

The camp is hosting the baseball teams from both Appalachian State and Western Carolina University Saturday, Feb. 2. Later, there will be a battle of the bands and a concert by country artist Matt Stillwell.

Western Carolina will get things started at 11 a.m. with an intra-squad scrimmage. Appalachian will follow with another intra-squad game at 3 p.m.

Next up will the battle of the bands, scheduled to begin at 5. Stillwell hits the stage at 7:30.

Entry fee for the battle of the bands is $50, and the winner gets $300 and a slot opening for Stillwell Feb. 15 at The Grey Eagle in Asheville. The “Chillbillies” disc jockey team from 92.9 WAME will judge the contest.

All-day admission is $15 and VIP tables are available for $100.
