The McDowell Titans and Lady Titans hosted a quad track meet Wednesday, with Northwestern 3A/4A Conference members Freedom, Alexander Central and Watauga competing.

In the boys’ meet, the Titans scored 36.5 points and finished third. Alexander Central (118.5) was first and was followed by Freedom (85), McDowell and Watauga (25)

In the girls’ meet, McDowell placed fourth with 32.5 points, trailing Watauga (96.5), Alexander Central (80) and Freedom (41).

Second-place finishers for the Titans were Fabian Bradley (3,200 meters, 12:27.8), Trevor Kettles (discus, 115-02), Dequan Boyce (triple jump, 39-01.25), as well as the 4X100 (49.9), 4X800 (9:37) and 4X200 (1:42.5) relay teams. Calvin Stevenson placed third in the pole vault.

Taking fourth for the Titans were Walker Hughes (shot put), Carson Ward (long jump) and Seth Harrison (high jump).

Titans placing fifth included Bradley (400), Harrison (1,600), Jacob Craeton (300 hurdles) and Boyce (high jump).

McDowell’s girls placed last as a team but dominated the throwing events, scoring 17 of their 32.5 points.

Cierra Flack won the shot put with a throw of 34-10. Summer Bartlett placed second in both the shot (32-08) and discus (73-00). Autumn Bartlett took fourth in the shot and fifth in the discus.

Reagan Tipper was second in the triple jump (27-08.50) and third in long jump (12-01.25). Olivia Davis placed third in the high jump and Abigail Williams was fourth in long jump. The 4X100 meter relay team placed second.

McDowell competes at Alexander Central next Wednesday.
