The 2018-19 Foothills Conference basketball season came to its conclusion this week.

The East McDowell Trojans and Lady Trojans finished up play with road wins at Walter Johnson Middle School.

East McDowell 38, Walter Johnson 6 (girls basketball)

In girls’ action, a total of 10 Lady Trojans scored in a 38-6 rout of the Lady Jackets.

Emily Alfaro recorded a game-high eight points. Peyton McPeters added six points and Aziyah Burgin netted five points.

Kaylin Darvaeux chipped in four points. Faith Laws scores three points. Tayla Carson, Kennedy Dobson, Kensly Stewart, Sydney Honeycutt and Delaney Wright finished with two points apiece.

East McDowell 50, Walter Johnson 43 (boys basketball)

A pair of Trojan basketball players reached double figures in a 50-43 win at Walter Johnson.

Xavier Taylor provided over half the scoring in the game, finishing with 26 points. Kaiden Compton added 11 points and Brady Pyatt had six points.

David Olivo scored three points and Chase Coley along with Noah Higgins scored two points each.

The regular season concluded last week, and both East McDowell squads finished at 6-6 overall. The Lady Trojans tied for third place with Liberty Middle School. West McDowell placed sixth at 3-9. East Burke took the girls championship, finishing 12-0 in league.

In the boys standings Liberty and Table Rock shared the title with 11-1 marks. East finished at the .500 mark in fourth place and West McDowell (4-8) was fifth.
