The McDowell Lady Titans basketball team will host a second-round State 4A Playoff game Thursday at 6 p.m. at Titan Gym.

McDowell (17-9), the West 4A’s seventh seed, will host the Hickory Ridge Ragin’ Bulls. The Lady Titans, who had a first-round bye, are making their 35th consecutive appearance in the state playoffs.

Hickory Ridge (23-4) is the tenth seed. The Bulls advanced to the second round with a 76-42 win over Olympic Tuesday night in the first round.

Hickory Ridge finished second in the Southwestern Conference behind Butler (25-2), who accounted for three of the Ragin’ Bulls’ losses, two of them by five points each and another by four. Hickory Ridge’s only other defeat came at the hands of Bishop O’Connell (Va.) in an out-of-state Christmas tournament.

The winner of Thursday’s game advances to Saturday’s third round and will play the winner of Thursday’s matchup between second seed West Forsyth and 15th seed Rocky River.
