Three McDowell High seniors have been selected to play in the Annual Blue-White Basketball All-Star Games at Enka High School Saturday, March 17.

Titans Skyler McKinney and Kevin Silver and Lady Titan Hayley Creasman were named to the Blue rosters this week.

The annual games, sponsored by the Rhododendron Civitan Club, showcase some of the best senior players in the mountains and raise money for the special needs programs in the 17 western N.C. counties the club serves. This marks the 66th year for the boys’ game and the 42nd year for the girls’ game.

McKinney and Silver were both All-Northwestern 3A/4A Conference selections after helping lead the Titans to a 21-7 season.

McKinney, a 6-foot-5 wing, averaged 14.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 45 percent from the field. Silver, who, throughout his career displayed a penchant for knocking down big shots, was an honorable mention all-conference pick as a junior. He finished his three-year varsity career with 860 points and 167 3-pointers.

Creasman, a 5-foot-9 senior forward/guard, finished second in scoring with 8.7 points per game for the 16-11 Lady Titans. Creasman also averaged 3.9 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.9 steals. She shot a team-best 84 percent from the free throw line.
