If you’re a fan of storytelling, songs and atrocious puns, then performer Ted Remington and singer Luci Fresina are here to satisfy.
“Shaggy Dog Stories and Other Feghoots: An Evening with Storyteller Ted Remington” is the latest show by Foothills Community Theatre running this Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
The performance, according to Remington, features the 13-year Foothills Theatre vet on stage telling short stories. Most of these stories, called “feghoots,” are elaborately paced and build towards an atrocious pun as the punchline.
“As I tell a lot of people, I tell lies,” said Remington, “and I try to tell damn good lies, and the punch is supposed to crack you upside the head in the end. I try to do everything I can, when I’m writing them, to disguise the ending. They’re quite entertaining.”
Accompanying Remington for both evenings is singer Lucy Fresina, who will be performing songs before and during the show and at intermission.
“Shaggy Dog Stories and Other Feghoots: An Evening with Storyteller Ted Remington” will run this Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25 & 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Greenlee Theater in the MACA building. For more information, to purchase tickets or reserve seats, go to http://www.fctplays.org/web/.
