U.S. Forest Service personnel stood with their hands over their hearts as a procession of emergency vehicles and the hearse containing fallen officer Jason Crisp drove through the Grandfather Ranger District.
As Crisp’s body was taken inside Westmoreland Funeral Home, emergency workers from surrounding counties paid tribute to their fallen comrade with a salute.
Gov. McCrory talked with several U.S. Forest Service personnel at the Grandfather Ranger District in Nebo on Thursday. U.S. Forest Service Officer Jason Crisp was escorted from Winston-Salem to McDowell County by several emergency and law enforcement agencies. The family of Crisp, his colleagues and the governor saluted the procession as it rolled through the Grandfather Ranger District.
